I too was born and raised in the mountain and southwestern States. In fact, I've never had a home address east of New Mexico. That said, on the list of top 300 cities by population, I made it to #273 before I found one I haven't visited. Since the early 80s, this travel around the country has given me a front row seat to the decline. From big cities to small towns, I've watched areas (black, brown and white) become more dangerous and more Balkanized, with less common English spoken.

To my surprise, when I moved to NM, I was informed by some of the old timers that they (literally) weren't Mexican wetbacks, they were Spanish. Upon consideration, it made me wonder if this was a common phenomenon among the general population. Judging by the last few years of intermittent headlines it appears to me that it is. Like the proverbial frog, slow change isn't noticed, but turning up the heat (Somalis in MN and Muslims in MI) draws attention. The problem becomes deeper, much like the transition from cellulitis to gangrene, when the new and unwilling-to-be-assimilated population continues to grow, no matter how slowly.

Here is an example from NM.

From: Errors of Enchantment- a project of the Rio Grande Foundation

https://errorsofenchantment.com/new-mexico-one-of-five-states-to-see-population-decline-in-past-year/

"According to data released by the US Census Bureau New Mexico is one of five states to have lost population in the past year. The Santa Fe New Mexican had this article on the data. The article notes New Mexico’s heavy dependence on international migration relative to other states (no differentiation is made over whether that is legal or illegal). As the article notes, New Mexico was 'the only state with population losses that had net positive international migration. It recorded 2,879 international arrivals, which outpaced its 2,267 domestic departures'.”

My point is that many long-time immigrants and their descendants (like my mother's family and me), love this country. Others, maybe not so much. The only way to stop this, is TO STOP THIS. That's a 100% STOP.

T.L., I just completed a new episode of the AI "Time Travel Series", where I use AI to try to revisit the past as realistically as possible.

What is sobering is to see in this series is the anguish and sacrifices our ancestors made to build this society. And now the midwits want to squander it.

Latest episode: "A Day of the Fort Parker Massacre and Cynthia Ann Parker's Abduction, 1836"
