Let me start with the condition of life in America. We are and have been governed by an increasingly communist and fascist government. The takeover is actually complete. This is something I have struggled against since I was in my early twenties. It was something I noticed in high school. Rebellion against that and the strong desire I had for freedom were chronicled in the novel Rebel. In it is the source of my overall rebellion against this trend toward communism and fascism through education.
There is considerable pushback for the idea of the convoy headed to Eagle Pass, Texas. There are two other convoys occurring at the same time by the same people and headed to different places. These convoys are simple expressions of opposition for the manner and degree that illegal aliens are being coddled by the present administration. This is a crisis that has gotten out of control and will continue for the foreseeable future and none of these convoys are going to stop it. I fully understand that, but that doesn’t mean that they serve no purpose, or are an inept expression of outrage.
Visible opposition serves a purpose. It draws the large media outlets to address it and report on it, if only to cast it in a negative light. Unwittingly, they alert the silent majority that they do have have allies. It informs the masses that some people are willing to stand up to the illegal and outrageous actions of government, despite the threats of retaliation. Responses to such events can dominate the social media outlets, at least those honest enough to allow it. The purpose, in my mind, would be to attract that attention and call for everyone who feels the same to call their representatives, or email them and demand that they shut down the border or shut down the government. This is something for which I have advocated here.
This same dynamic of one’s actions being debased by those on the same side has been true throughout our nation’s history. The Boston Tea Party occurred in 1773, three years after the Boston Massacre and three years before the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It was conducted, it was believed, by the Sons of Liberty, a group of radicals unsanctioned by those of stature and consequence. George Washington looked down on it, though forced to publicly support it. Privately, he was outraged by the lack of respect for private property and the conduct of the individuals who took part. Benjamin Franklin thought they ought to be forced to reimburse the owners of the tea. It was all so crass and impetuous and it led to the Coercive Acts by the British in retaliation. To modern reasoning, it would be seen as stupid and counterproductive. But it was a step along a path that led to American independence. It was an instance of resistance to the tyranny of the king. To those out in the hinterlands it was a cry of desperation only heard through newspapers, either cheering for it or denigrating it for the base and unorthodox behavior of the tea partiers. Who knows how many of them had their hearts steeled with that news?
I participated in the trucker convoy from California to Washington DC in 2022, one year after January 6th and we were warned about the same things. It’s a set-up, the feds will infiltrate and cause trouble, making all of us look bad and leading to massive retaliation. All along the way people came out on bridges and waved flags. It revealed the animosity for the current regime all through the states, even the Democrat-run states. It had an impact with those who sought some way to register their objections to the mandated vaxx, or the communist tactics used during the lockdown. It gave them a way to express their outrage.
Despite the fact that I’ve been trying desperately to head off this moment, when we would be ruled by those who find no fault with imprisoning innocent people, or unleashing criminals into peaceful neighborhoods through no-bail policies, or an open border to our political enemies and criminal gangs, it’s here. This is the state of our nation. There is a traitor installed through a stolen election in the White House, who named traitors to the most important posts in government. That is a fact and it makes us no better than the Soviet Union we criticized when we were not de facto the same thing. This government has been guilty of unleashing a deadly vaccine and making it mandatory for everyone but themselves. None of them have “died suddenly” in a manner that “baffles” the medical professionals. They took the same medication they derided and criticized to our faces and made it impossible to use.
This is who we are dealing with. The border issue is my issue, because I’m in Texas. This is where this catastrophe is occurring. My support for the convoy is not out of cupidity or stupidity. Might it be dangerous to rally with them? Yes, resistance is always dangerous in a communist/fascist country. I’m sorry to break that news to some of my compatriots.
Here’s the ugly truth that some seem reluctant to acknowledge: the republic has been overthrown. Elections have been corrupt for decades, but never so obvious or consequential as now. City and State governments are just as communist as the man in the White House and those on Capitol Hill. Our representatives largely support the military industrial complex Eisenhower spoke of in his address to the nation. Most have given in to communism already, the new world order, the WEF, Soros and every enemy freedom has. The people alone are going to solve this issue and they are not going to do it with a convoy or a rally. Three years ago, January 6th was the equivalent of the Boston Massacre. Patriots then were drawn out, poked and prodded into it and it, like January 6th, remained as an open sore for six more years.
The path to freedom runs through a series of events like this convoy. It runs through challenges and retribution, more than this, even. Great events are the products of actions and reactions, sometimes for decades before it comes to a head. The difference here is that our enemies are within months of being able to assume total control, when any resistance can be met with the most severe retaliation.
As long as Texas is willing to make a stand, I stand with it. If that is joining a convoy, that’s the least I can do while I wait for further instructions from my state. If you think this will have no effect on representatives in the Texas House and Senate, I believe you are mistaken. If you think it will have no effect on the spirit of patriotism nationwide, I think you are mistaken. If I am unwilling to risk governmental retribution when I feel this strongly that the federal government is not only wrong but illegitimate and illegally allowing an invasion of my state, I ask: what cause would be worth my possible incarceration or elimination? I cannot conceive of anything more dire or prescient.
I ask that no one follow my footsteps and I offer no advice. I simply look at this as something I must do. Perhaps it’s not the most effective and I already know that it will not solve the border issue. It is a step that ought to be taken by someone who has taken many others along the route, steps that have kept alive the desire for freedom.

Freedom, such a novel concept. Yet every man has a limit to his tolerance
and willingness to go along to get along. We owe no allegiance to liars, thieves,
murderers, that commit even evil acts designed to harm us, our fellow man, and
members of the society of men. The changes that were made are no longer secret.
Righteous indignation is in order.
Clear, plain, unambiguous writing. I agree completely that expressions of our frustration and unwillingness to be silent must be made, in spite of the Michael Yons of the world saying "It's a trap! Don't go!"
What should we do, Michael, voot harder?
Are "they" desperate for an incident to discredit us and tyrannize us? Absolutely. But they are going to do that anyway, aren't they?
