The vast majority of our "rep's" in both houses have been reduced to useless idjits by the CCP. Many have at least one "compromise/concession" to the commies, most likely have numerous offenses. After the first transgression, does it really matter to them anymore?

Oddly, now our gubmint is attacking us the same way it was done and vehemently criticized during the Viet Nam conflict, just torch the village/dwelling by surprise attack from the skies.
I expect a ramping-up of devious actions from these vile sphincters, optics and collateral damage are both non-issues with them. They see no reason to stop something that's working so well.
I know just how Cassandra felt. Since 2004 I've been saying the same thing- NOTHING substantial will change without a catastrophe. What the trigger will be I have no idea. It could be an economic collapse, nationwide kinetic terrorism, crippling cyber attacks, or getting our asses handed to us in peer-power combat. It could be none of the above. What I'm sure of is simple. As long as the dole is distributed, there is some food in the stores, and the digital baby sitters still work, the masses will stay asleep. It follows the old line "When my neighbor is out of work it's a recession, when I'm out of work it's a depression". The same passivity applies to being cancelled, sued, jailed, homeless, drafted or dead. The real question is what will be the response? Will it be an opportunity for the authoritarians to turn us into a nation of Uighurs, or will it be a chance to bulldoze the swamp?
More and more I'm coming around to this way of looking at it. Unless it's super quiet, there is no real organized opposition. The steady, relentless pressure has worked and continues to work. I do expect an act of hubris at some point which really is irrefutable, then we will see. But if it does take place, then it's an issue of whom against who, meaning guessing where the fracture lines of battle take place, figuratively and actually.
Neighbor vs neighbor? State vs state? Rural vs urban? Best guess is 'all of the above' depending on local conditions, but with Big Bro on the sidelines stepping in when deemed useful.
I think Big Brother will instigate new unrest, inflame ongoing unrest, and use all of it as an excuse to move against groups, organizations, and individuals. This will involve false flags, manufactured evidence, entrapment, and new "emergency powers".
In other words, business as usual.
The best I can hope for is to maintain a low profile and avoid becoming a target. I got some good advice early. The first part was "Get out of the cities. A year too soon is better than a day too late" (John Wilder). We did that 10 years ago. The rest involves behavior, and comes from John Farnham. Totally agreed. Some years ago, my wife and i backpacked around the world for 2 years, and we learned that at one level 'random' attacks aren't that at all, though some are. Of course, we were concerned about street crime and not ideological 'warfare' and being targeted in that.

We were legitimately friendly, avoided awful areas though once or twice we got it wrong, didn't insult anyone, talk politics, and avoided the night life unless accompanied by a local we trusted. And for some reason nobody wanted the $5 plastic watch I used wear, what an insult!
Even then (90's) we learned something interesting - at that time given our precautions, we found the most violent crime to be in two places: Columbia, and the US. Everywhere else it was theft or deception, but in these two places many people had to put on a helping of hurt as well. My translation: we have been manufacturing antisocial thugs, criminals, and narcissists for quite some time, and now the process has been perfected.
But it's the 'prevention is 90% of the cure' thing. My worry though is the two adages: "You may not be interested in politics, but politics is interested in you;' followed by 'having to break a few eggs to make an omelet."
I'm sure that there are multitudes that feel the despair and hopelessness. All we can really do is prepare. All those in congress and the professional bu·reaucrat class have sold their souls for a dollar and power. Everything they do is a show.
So the day before yesterday I printed this up for Dad (who likes it as much as I do), he gave it back to me with a good bit of yellow highlighter. You know how for the last several years they've (TPTB) have been lamenting the surge of White supremacy, Christian Nationalists, KKK... and the list goes on and on. So Dad was wondering why all these evil and spooky groups aren't down at the border repelling all these black and brown folks? Shouldn't they be there with their bump stocked rifles shooting at the, what was it that gal said? 800 rounds a minute? If we truly had all these evil boogie men, how is it we have an invasion?
Had a discussion with a young, woke UT journalist student. In fairness it was a decent discussion. Her take was that white supremacists were not only the Greatest Threat Ever but at fault for the damage of BLM and Antifa. So, I pressed her on it, asking specifically, where do I go to find one? Surely in the White Supremacy department at UT? Or at least the club? Clever these guys - they can infiltrate BLM and cause violence, and antifa too. And with antifa being so peaceful, why didn't they stop them in the first place?
Very much hemming and hawing in this discussion.....and best I could come up with is that white supremacists inhabit the vegetable isle of major grocery stores, being they are EVERYWHERE, even if you can't actually find one.......well, wokeness doesn't have to make sense, or it's not woke.
The "politics" quote (Pericles) is absolutely true, but as an individual there is not much I can do. At best I can watch what goes on and try to keep MY eggs from being broken. I spent 35 years attempting to influence the political process. I worked to get the vote for 18 year olds, worked on political campaigns, and donated money. I spoke to legislatures, individual politicians and bureaucrats. However, not having a seven figure income, it slowly dawned on me I was being patronized like a puppy. "Nice doggy, now go away and don't shit on the rug". It was also clear if the puppy became a nuisance animal control was on speed dial.
We really should also have some people who will petition the states for a state bank like ND. That will be a protection for the people against a CBDC, because it can declare different kinds of instruments as legal tender... BTC, gold & silver, state scrip, etc.
