The enormity of the forces brought against free speech cannot be understood simply by looking at any individual organization, like Facebook, because it’s a web of deceit incorporated by tax dollars to inhibit free speech on a global scale, but primarily against the Western nations who largely have free speech, rather than against truly authoritarian societies that don’t need it, they do that as a matter of practice.
Great article. I hate censorship in any form. Let the Nazis rant. Let the Zionists spout their religious nonsense. Let the people decide the truth of it all.
A few years ago, the local newspaper in our small town, Healdsburg Spittoon (Tribune), deleted my comments on articles in their paper. I wrote to the editor stating that I pay for a yearly subscription to the Spittoon. Why are you censoring my comments? Are they dangerous?.
It worked. They quit censoring my comments. I was surprised.
That's just as unconstitutional as anything else. I look forward to the lawsuits and the rescinding of any laws such as that. They're targeted at Palestinian protesters, but it's still wrong and but I'm neither a Palestinian, nor a Jew, so in my mind, it doesn't hit close enough to home for me to worry about it.
I knew that would be the reaction. I meant simply that the constitution covers that sort of act and there are a lot more pressing things than whether a Palestinian feels his rights have been violated by a clearly illegal law or practice. You should know me better than that.
Yes, they are protected rights. I don't give Trump a pass on this, neither do I give a pass to DeSantis for passing such a law in Florida. I look forward to them being challenged. Do you think we have not been targeted for the things we've said? I was harassed by the IRS in 2010 for an appearance in DC, PayPal challenged my organization, a 501 c (4) that is perfectly legal to spout political ideas, is 501 c (3) that cannot. I lost thousands that I could not access after an arbitrary judgment by a crooked banking system. There's more, if you want to hear it, but I doubt you do. Those are my fights. I'm concerned about J6ers more than anyone right now. Let them have their own fights, I know they already have the lawyers to fight it. I hope Trump loses that one.
I do take offense to the idea that I have cognitive dissonance where Trump's concerned, that's just ridiculous.
Few people understand the extent to which federal dollars are being funnelled to these leftist NGOs which work to destroy the country. All of the advocacy for communism is bought and paid for by the US taxpayer. They just don't know it.
Indeed, so much comes down to the money printer. If only the enemy relied upon our taxes. That is quantifiable, finite, and at least on paper affords some measure of control. And yet how many withhold taxes in protest? That quickly reveals the real purpose of taxes.
Its far worse because the fed spigot negates any aspect of reality that it does not believe to accrue to its station. People laughed at modern monetary theory until one day we woke up barebacking that unicorn in the chute.
Of course, real democracy in action is that reality not only gets a vote but counts of all votes in the end.
The trappings of that spigot of our paper empire have far reach across both sides of the divide.
The occupiers and all the institutional and quasi-State NGO feeders draw from the same trough of global reserve fiat and endless debt as we all do in various ways to sustain this artificial standard of living.
A good portion of how we got here is that very few on our side are inclined to accept our own part in the incremental selling out - and buying into, to the spoils of the spigot.
For my whole life our side has been trying and failing to cast off the yoke but keep the spoils.
Meanwhile, reality is over there in the corner whittling a switch.
<Part of the purpose of this Substack is to render their attempts at censorship ineffectual.> Analogously, Substack can be seen as a bunch of termites. You are just one and, as such, not of much concern. But your writing affects hundreds, maybe thousands of readers who may become "termites" themselves, raising awareness, and encouraging action to accomplish the same goals. Add more like-minded "termites" via Substack and it becomes a force, an infestation, that can inflict major damage on those hell-bent on destroying free speech and other human rights. As a fellow "termite", I welcome the challenge and affiliation.
That was a very dense and interesting discussion on Joeprah. Mike definitely has a keen mind for tracking the vectors and associations. It's easy then for us to get caught up in his conclusions, but that's why we need to always be honing our own capacity for such.
So, I am left to wonder why they want us to be gnawing on this - and why now. The two evergreen questions that should be rooted in every piece of approved media.
Mike's take on the social media / internet censorship impact on Trump 2.0 and 3.0 is a bit curious. Seems reductive and over-stated relative to the rest of his presentation. As is his consolidation of white hats in the very same systems he is indicting, i.e. Twitter/X Elon.
In any case, nothing at all surprising but at the same time a good reminder that it is all institutionalized; it is the System, and the purpose of the System is the System.
But we should be weary to avoid the demoralization of 'all your bases are belong to us'. These people and their toys are not Gods. In fact, they are deeply flawed. Their uneasy alliances are fragile, just as their world-view is a pyramid built on its apex.
They require our consent and our faith and our participation. That is why they are always working toward these various consensus points - and why they are paranoid, schizo, and ultimately insecure.
It helps me to remember Uncle Screwtape and his letters to Wormwood. They need us, we do not need them.
A lot of people are making the connection between "the system" as a means of fixing "the system" and arriving at the wrong conclusion. Of course that can't/won't happen, but what was voted into power was a system breaker, not intent on using the old system, but destroying it where it needs to be destroyed, i.e., treasury, DOD, DOJ and the censorship industry, leaving in place the façade of those institutions. I'm not saying that will happen, but if it doesn't it's because of people like the RINOs in the senate and the communist money men behind the globalist push. Any weak-kneed response will be met with anger and hostility from the MAGA crowd, because they are not a cult as is so often portrayed in media and there is some of that, but the America First crowd adopted Trump, not the other way around and I don't think he understands that just yet, but as quickly as the America Firsters turned on, most recently, Chronister, they will turn on anyone else, including Trump. This is put up or shut up territory, because the people are sick of it and that shows in recent polling that between 55% and 65% are positive about the changes Trump has suggested. Don't ignore the people in this equation, either, they have to hold the RINOs accountable and enough of the "resisters" to the cabinet picks designed to do that destruction will be met with primaries, the suggestion of that has already forced Joni Ernst to take a step back. It's no fun being a stalwart senator if one suddenly is no longer a senator.

Well, it is a small town.
Unfortunately, ((they)) don’t want/allow you to do the same.
Yet, Trump supports elimination of free speech on college campuses…when protesting Israel.
Why is that?🧐

That’s unfortunate.
Perhaps you should read the simple poem, “First they came…”
So freedom is important only when it personally affects you?
Perhaps, that’s the problem in America.
I knew that would be the reaction. I meant simply that the constitution covers that sort of act and there are a lot more pressing things than whether a Palestinian feels his rights have been violated by a clearly illegal law or practice. You should know me better than that.
This has nothing to do with Palestinians, or ________(fill in the blank), per se.
This is the taking away of rights that are protected, and a POTUS that supports this.
The cognitive dissonance regarding Trump is mind blowing, in general.
