Chris seems like the kind of person you’d want as a friend that could accept you as you are and you accept him as he is. Not perfect and no illusions that he is. Definitely a thinker and an observer. Until I see otherwise, he’s a guy I’d want in my circle of good people.
A guy named Tim Kennedy posted the below on his Facebook page:
“ We finally did something right. I argue that the Internet has done very little to make this world a better place. But we picked the right guy and made him famous overnight.
His powerful and from the heart song, Rich Men North of Richmond has been number one on iTunes this entire week and 15 million views on YouTube in five days. After not being seen for nearly a week, when his song broke the internet @oliver_anthony_music_ stepped on the stage and read from his well worn Bible.
If you’re expecting him to be perfect, he’s not. He is human.
If you think he is gonna be the white night that was going to ride in and save this country he’s not.
If you think he’s going to revolutionize country music, back to the heart and soul about what it used to be, he won’t.
But he can be the start for all of that. We The People are the most feared humans on the planet. I think it’s time we remember just how powerful we are.
The scripture he read:
“The wicked plots against the righteous and gnashes his teeth at him, but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he sees that his day is coming. es; in the days of famine they have abundance. But the wicked will perish; the enemies of the Lord are like the glory of the pastures; they vanish—like smoke they vanish away.”
I'm still processing the phenomenon of the song, but this rolling stone connection got me distracted.
Several years ago I was working in Morocco & hadn't found the English language book store in Casablanca.
A friend sent some reading materials that included several copies of rolling stone. I hadn't perused RS in years.
It's a toss up my perspectives or the gist of what I now consider a leftist rag only useful as mullet wrapping bird cage liner.
Anyhow kudos to this young man for resisting the sellout. I know I couldn't resist myself. Hopefully he has much more to say & will encourage other like minder truth tellers, the tiniest spark might get this thing going in a peaceful way. Cause It ain't looking good imo.
All I can say is, “I agree.” and thank you.

A new friend helps out with his guitar and he is pretty good at it.
The song speaks to the hearts of so many of us and we can hope it will inspire our young men
with some courage to speak...or sing.
