Understanding the precarious position this nation is in, after four full years of communist rule, with the total lack of concern for budget or health and well-being of the people, is important.
I just hope our 'rugged individualism' doesn't destroy America. Like it or not, groups are stronger than individuals, and if you have to leave some of your personal preferences at the door for the greater good, so be it. The strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack.
Our nation was formed on the 'common good', so that a reasonable chance of a normal life would be available. We are currently a fragmented nation, and no group is more fragmented than White people. Unless a good portion of us come together, for our common good, at best we will become a scorned minority and at worst, extinct. When you believe in God, you are part of a larger group, and it doesn't destroy any of your individuality, it just helps to make you a part of a greater something and stronger.
The individual is the corner stone on which all other principles hammered out by the Founders was built on. I do not choose to live in a pack controlled by two alphas that dictate to and control all the other members... the only ones to breed, gorge first on the kill, discipline any member for any reason. In such an example survival is the only common good.. but to what end?
Fine, enjoy watching our people be decimated because you're so proud you cannot accept being a part of something. I hope you're single and have no relatives because being part of a family, being married, having children, all eat away at your precious individuality.

Milei had the authority to eliminate about 2/3 of Argentina's government departments with the stroke of a pen...Trump has far less authority, but could shut down the FBI since it was created by executive order--Kash Patel will try to reform it instead..But Trump absolutely must pardon all the J6ers in jail, and none of them were violent, that was government infiltrators...and he must deport the illegals, no matter how many say it's impossible..If laws get in the way, as they will, he must ignore them, like Andrew Jackson....
A great many of the agencies now in existence were created with the stroke of a pen and can be eliminated the same way. I don't know, offhand, how many, but quite a few. EPA, CIA, FBI, ATF, DoEd, DoEn, etc. This is why Trump is talking to senators about putting his changes into law rather than EOs that Biden did away with as easily as Trump will reinstate them, but that doesn't have the resistance of law and that's what is needed this time around. Though Biden violated the laws with impunity as well.
True..what we really need is to eliminate every department that didn't exist in 1840, which would be State, Interior, War, and maybe Justice....I'll be happy if Trump can terminate any of the existing plethora of departments...
I think a good barometer for coming storm will be the response of the people of California to the ongoing fires in LA. If there is a repudiation of the assorted politicians and bureaucrats, along with exposure of their lies and excuses, perhaps the woke tide is receding. Recall petitions and demands for resignations or dismissal would be a good start. Unfortunately, I don't think it will happen. The rebuilding effort will be enormously expensive, and the opportunities for graft, corruption, and vote buying will be unlike anything we've seen before. Materials and labor will be incredibly expensive impossible to get. And regulations? Regardless of the promises, this is LA, and the bureaucrats will not be denied. Unless they get some of the Vig.
No matter how long the Federal gravy train is, how much it carries, or how often it runs, it will never be enough, and Trump & Company will be at fault. It will make the California High Speed Rail project look like pilfering a couple of cupcakes at a bake sale.
The communists who have worked so tirelessly for so long to destroy this nation and this nation's goodness have not gone anywhere since Nov. 5. They are licking their wounds and scheming on how best to turn the table and deflect accountability from the mess resulting from the past four years of their "leadership". Projection is still the chosen option, which has been successful in the past for sowing chaos and confusion, especially for those not inclined to educate themselves enough to discern the wheat from the chaff.
The LA fires were no accident and they were not caused by climate change. Yes, California and LA leadership is incompetent. But there are other forces at work here. While the incompetence of leadership in now in focus, its only a sponge taking the blame while an unseen agenda we can only guess at works unseen. Those fires will be used as a cudgel by the communists to whack Trump and his agenda at every turn because the impact of those fires will affect all of us to one degree or another regardless of where in the country we live. I fear these fires will be used to trip up Trump's agenda by causing his administration to loose its focus responding to incessant attacks by Democrats and their pet media at any opportunity.
In DC, “Every dollar had a constituency”. If Trump, Vivek and Elon haven’t heard that yet, they will as soon as the DOGE erasers, scissors, and Delete Key appear! The screams will be heard all the way to T.L.’s ranch.
If every ‘citizen journalist’ (that would be Us) would prepare to carpet bomb every elected dipstick from school board and commissioners to the mayor, governor, congressmen, and senators with suggestions, compliments as well as pointed criticism– something they have rarely heard and always ignored – whatever the ‘greater good’ may be might be served, now that the political wind is blowing from a better direction. Teaming up with some like-minded locals would provide an energy bigger and better than any one individual while still aimed at that philosophical Sweet Spot.
And having a hearty band of local amigos is a good thing if unsavory times break out.

Very well said, basically what I was pointing out, but much more succinctly and effectively.
Thank you, TL.
Gabby, The strength of the pack starts with the wolf. The wolf gets strength from a pack of other individual wolves.
The problem with the wolf analogy is that there is always an Alpha male and a Beta female leading the pack.
This is why, if I were a wolf, I would be a lone wolf and take my chances.
PS: I hate the term "common good." It leads to communism.

Well, now... thats very deep. I feel compelled to find a quite place for contemplation in regards to my habit of thinking for myself. Then I may s
do a bit of research on this "common good" you speak of. :-)

Truth!

We shall see. I don't expect much from Trump. The rhetoric is good, the actions will fall short.

Political winds never blow from a better direction.
Depends on where you stand.
Not only prepared, quiveriing with anticipation.
